FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- What is the cabinetry warranty?
-
Thomson Cabinetry warrants to the original purchaser that your cabinets are defect free in workmanship and materials. This warranty is valid for up to six years after installation. All claims for defects must be submitted to Thomson Cabinetry. After review of the claim we will, at our discretion, either repair or replace the defective item.
Proper Care + Cleaning of your Cabinets
Your cabinetry has been made in the same fashion as your fine furniture. As with any wood product moisture is the enemy. You would never place a glass on a wood coffee table without a coaster, the same care should be taken with your cabinetry.
-
Spills should be wiped up immediately to avoid damaging your finish.
-
Never leave a wet or even damp cloth/towel draped over a cabinet door.
-
Your finish is water resistant but NOT waterproof. The wood below the finish is water susceptible.
-
Extra care should be taken in high moisture areas such as the Kitchen sink and bathrooms as excessive moisture or even humidity in those areas can lead to water damage.
-
This type of damage is NOT covered under your warranty.
-
Always wipe your cabinets completely dry.
-
Never leave moisture to air dry on your finish.
-
A soft cotton cloth along with a mild cleaning polish (i.e. Murphy's Oil Soap) should be all that is necessary in cleaning your cabinets. Never use scrubbing detergents, ammonia, bleach, or silicone based products as they may cause damage over long term use.
-
Never use a wet sponge or abrasive dishwashing pad (i.e. Scotchbrite pad) to wipe your cabinets as they tend to force water into crevices and also scratch your finish.
Please do not hesitate to call us if you have any questions or concerns.
